Here is my race report for the last 3 races. It was the last of 5 weekends in a row:
May 5, Jacksonville FKCS
I was the only person in my class. It was disappointing after the last weekend’s very competitive national race in Barnesville. That meant I qualified and finished 1st and last. As Reese Bobby says, “If you ain’t first, your last”. In this case I was both.
May 12, Barnesville GSKA
I qualified 2nd, 0.183 behind 1st. In the heat race I kept that position and finished 2nd but I had the fastest race lap, only 0.1 off the track record. In the feature race I again started 2nd. At the start I stayed with 1st through turn 1 and had a little more speed coming off the corner and was able to take the lead by the 2nd corner. I held off the kart behind me for the whole race to win the feature.
May 19, Barnesville, GSKA
This time I qualified on the pole by 0.338 seconds over 2nd. In the heat race I had the fastest lap time by 0.007 and led the race to the end. In the feature I again led from start to finish and won the race. I had the second fastest lap by 0.004 seconds. Our class is so competitive it is really hard to win but very rewarding when you do. Barnesville is such a tight track it is really hard to pass so starting position is also very important.
I would like to thank Don Kitch for again sponsoring me in 2012. Don is the first sponsor this year. It is so helpful to help stay competitive. With the competition so tough we have to have fresh tires often to finish well and have a chance to win. Thank you Don.
